At Sky Tram Monteverde, we invite you to experience the magic of this extraordinary ecosystem from a unique vantage point. Sky Tram Monteverde is a beautiful 30-minute ride on an aerial Gondola between 45 and 65 meters (131 and 213 feet) above the Monteverde cloud forest, featuring astonishing views above the canopy.
On this tour, you will travel a distance of 800 meters (2,624 feet) up and down from the reception of Treetopia Park (formerly Sky Adventures Monteverde) to the highest point of the cloud forest. You will ride at an easygoing slow speed of 10 km/h (6 mi/h) to enjoy the views overlooking the Monteverde cloud forest.
There is a stop at the top of Sky Tram Monteverde before heading back to reception, from where you can walk on a beautiful and easy trail of approximately 200 meters (656 feet), which can take up to 30 minutes if you take it slow. From that point, you will also have access to a couple of beautiful viewpoint platforms overlooking the cloud forest and an observation tower from where you can see the Arenal volcano, Nicoyaâs Gulf, and a panoramic view of the entire Monteverde region.
âTHE Views!â
Sky Tram Monteverde exceeded my expectations! The tram ride was serene, and the short and easy nature trail at the top was an excellent way to connect with nature. The observation tower was also a highlight as it provided a 360-degree view of the Monteverde region, but be aware that there are many stairs to climb to get to that point. Alternatively, some viewpoints require minimum walking and provide incredible vistas and photo moments. I especially recommend to older folks who canât walk much and still want to experience the Monteverde cloud forest.â

Transportation Available
The Sky Walk Monteverde experience occurs at Treetopia Park (formerly Sky Adventures Monteverde), about 10 minutes from Monteverdeâs main town, Santa Elena. After booking online, you will get a confirmation email with the Google Maps location with driving instructions to get here.
If you donât have a car to get to us, you can add transportation for an additional fee when booking online. Type in the name and address of your Hotel/Airbnb, and we will happily pick you up 30 to 60 minutes before the tour starts. Weâll also take you back.
Flexible Cancellation
Our flexible cancellation policy allows you to cancel with a full refund up to 24 hours before the tour day. You can easily cancel online, directly from your confirmation email âno need to talk to someone, and no questions asked.
The Sky Walk Monteverde Tour is generally open through most weather conditions (including rain). However, if there is challenging weather (such as a thunderstorm), we will work with you to reschedule or refund you.

What's Included
Can I go without a reservation?
All visitors must have a reservation. Walk-ins are not allowed due to the limited capacity the trail can handle.
Thereâs also a new government limit on the number of visitors each park can allow (which changed due to COVID-19). Click the âBook Nowâ button for real-time availability and reservations.
If youâre trying to book and donât see availability online, you may contact us (our contact information is at the bottom of this page) to see if we got any last-minute cancellations that may free up the spots you need.
Do you offer transportation?
If you donât have a car to get to the park, we can provide a free shuttle service from your Monteverde Hotel/Airbnb to the park and back to your Hotel/Airbnb. Our shuttles are large vans with A/C, and they pick up/drop off multiple customers simultaneously.
We have specific pickup times depending on your location, so after you book online, you will first receive your confirmation email, and then (a few hours later), you will get a follow-up email with the pickup time at your Hotel/Airbnb.
On the way back from the park to your Hotel/Airbnb, our shuttles also leave the park at specific times (usually every hour), so you may need to wait at the parkâs reception for a while after you finish your activity. We work like this to minimize the number of cars on the road to keep up with our gas emissions target to remain a sustainable park.
Please note that some Hotel/Airbnbâs locations are advertised as part of Monteverde, when in reality, they are far away from town. And they might be outside our service area. If that is your case, we will let you know via a follow-up email, so that we can try to find a solution for you or cancel your reservation with a full refund
Can I cancel a reservation?
We have a flexible cancelation policy.
After you book online, you will get an automatic confirmation email. This confirmation email contains a âCancelâ button, so you can easily cancel online without talking to anyone (no need to provide explanations).
If you cancel at least 24 hours before the activity day, you will get a full refund (otherwise, there will not be a refund). For example, if your tour is on February 28 at 8:30 AM, you should cancel before February 27 at 0:00 AM to get a refund. You will not get a refund if you cancel on February 27 at 0:01 AM or later.
On the other hand, this activity generally operates under most weather conditions (including rain) unless it is risky for participants (such as during heavy thunderstorms). If you arrive at the park and the weather prevents us from letting you in, we can try to reschedule or give you a full refund
