Included from San José
Explore the history, culture, and daily life of Costa Rica through a guided visit to San José, the country’s capital. This tour combines visits to important historical landmarks with insights into Costa Rica’s political, economic, and cultural development.
The experience includes the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, the National Theater lobby, and several notable sites such as the Old Train Station, the National Liquor Factory, Congress, the Supreme Court of Elections, the Metallic Building, the Central Market, and city parks. Along the way, your guide will provide context about the people, institutions, and events that have shaped modern Costa Rica.
The tour concludes at a jewelry workshop, where you will learn about traditional metallurgical techniques used by Costa Rica’s indigenous cultures and the craftsmanship behind gold artifacts.
This activity is a practical way to understand San José beyond a quick city visit. The tour combines important landmarks, local history, and cultural context in a clear and easy-to-follow way. The Gold Museum and the jewelry workshop add a useful connection to Costa Rica’s pre-Columbian past, while the stops around the city help explain how the capital has developed over time.
